While reading through my PC magazine this month I came across a review of some GPS.

Here's the article: http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,1759,1573159,00.asp

I didn't realize that they can be so expensive.

Most of the more expensive ones are designed for vehicle use only. My moms neighbor just bought one for over $1000 and it even shows you where all the Mac machines are to get cash. It only works in the cigarette lighter. Not much use for that by me in the woods!

i use a gps map plotter for my commercial fishing boat...its great..has the bottom charts displayed...you just buy a differnt chip for different areas.....the one i use was about 15 hundred dollars and is one of the less expensive ones.....

The best GPS's on the market right now are IMHO the Garmin GPSMap 60CS and 72CS

ive got a garmin...dont remeber the model # though....it uses the bluechip instead of cmap.....garmin makes a decent gps.......but in my field there are much better units than garmin.....however size is the problem as most use a computer hard drive and monitor...not going to fit in your car very well!!!lol!!..and they are abut twice the price of the one ive got.......
