All,
Early this morning Jessica and I headed out to check on a few things that I wanted to do, and our first stop was a cranberry bog near Atsion. We flushed up quite a few ducks before reaching our destination, and with the fog it was really nice in the pines.

We wanted to see if we could cross a river at this location, and with the help of beavers we found that it was not a problem. (Bob and Steve take notice)

The only problem is on the other side we ran into a thick wall of brush.

After exploring that area, we headed over to Friendship to see the guardrail that Steve mentioned last week. It is not even a new rail, it is recycled. Not very nice looking, but if it saves the places so be it.

We also went down Moores Meadow road and found that the cranberry's have already been harvested. And Jessica saw that plane again in Chatsworth. In order to spend that much money to fly a jet around all the time, it must be something really important. I just wish we knew what it was.

See that Guy? Where there is a will, there is a way.
Speaking of fog, I found a great place to photograph the Forked River Mountains. You have to climb an easy tree to do it, so I got up early to beat the sunrise and take a shot with the sun coming up.
By the time I got to my spot, we were all fogged in.

We have to get together one day and visit all these places.

Actually, if there are any hikers amongst us, I was going to go back there today, more towards evening. I can drive to within a half mile. If anyone wants to come let me know.........bob

Bob,
I will get back to you. How is it for Jessica? Can you narrow down the time?
Guy
Jessica can make it. I bet she can even climb the tree. I can be flexible on the time. I am trying to see if I can catch the light just so. I have no proof, but I'm thinking if the sun goes down just right, the sun could shine on the trees of the mountain area.
With that said, I hate to put you in any pressure. There will be other times. I am off tomorrow too.........

I learned a few things tonite in trying to photograph the mountains:
a.) Get a better camera
b.) Find a closer photo location
c.) This could turn out to be a passion of mine
d.) I must be nuts
Here is how they looked when we got there with clouds:

Then the sun started coming out from the clouds:

And finally full sun:

Zoomed in on the Forked River Mountains from our tree.

And the sun starting to head toward the Mountains.

And one last photo of the field where we were. This field was a hill that the sand company starting in 1979 removed. They left the half of the hill where we were.

Went through a big arse mud puddle and killed the alternator. Happened to four others with me on a FunRun in PA. Just got back from the Pep Boys in Reading where I had it fixed. Cost me $446.02 plus $40.00 towing. :(
Of the other four that broke down, one was from Brooklyn and one was from Westchester Co. NY. The other two were local to the area.
