View Full Version : Today's Leg Stretch
I am going out for a couple hours to shoot some photos near Woodmansie. If anyone wants to stretch their legs (about 2.5 miles) in the woods, I will meet you at the corner of Pasadena Road and Mount Misery Road where the tracks cross Pasadena Road.
2 PM. Let me know before 1:30.

I then came into the area of 3 clay pits from the old days. It's a neat area, plenty of hills and up and down areas:

Found a large Den with a probable resident. I asked Buddy if he would knock on the door. He said, who, me?

Sorry I could not make it Bob. If you had contacted me the evening before I would have made it.
Guy
I wish you could have came too, but it was spur of the moment as many of my solo trips are. I always feel bad notifying you that I'm going out because you come so far, and yet you are the one always ready to join me and I know you feel bad when you can't make it. So don't ever feel bad, I have a good time alone too.
I love going out in the pines.........

Looks like you had a great time.
I am going to start doing more deep woods solo exploring stuff I think.

Nice photos Bob, looks like you had an interesting "leg stretch" out there. I have been in that area before and had by accident come across pit #2 but did realize there were two others. The big pit I've seen before and it really is something to behold. From your tracks I guess you arrived at it the back way, I know the track side and rt. 72 side of that pit is barricaded (not so much to foot traffic).
That den is very interesting. It looks quite large in the photo. Did you notice any tracks near the den. I've seen fox dens that have been large but not to that extent. I wonder if maybe coyote? Did you see any tracks, hmmm, did ya?
Jeff
There were faint tracks, yes. I was thinking, if I brush the entranceway clean, and then go back the following evening, I could see what it is. If it is fox, its the biggest den I've ever seen..........bob
