Has anyone heard of this before?

Sometimes all that remains of a vanished town is a clearing in the woods. "Star-Tree Corner" is an area in the woods named for the convergence of five sand roads. It marks the spot where the town of Washington, one of the more prominent of the vanished towns of the Pinelands, once stood.

Here is a link to the artical I found it in.

I have never heard of that. So Pomery Crossroads is a Star-Tree Corner along with many other places.

I think "Star Tree Corner" was an old name for Washington, or was named after Washington was abandoned.

Growing up, my friends and I used to call Munion Field "five points" for that exact same reason. As to what the place actually was, I haven't a clue and have never been able to find out anything.

Any ideas?

There is a place called "Seven Stars" just south of Lakewood.

Look on the Cook Topo map, sheet #13.
