From Moore's Meadow Road today. This is very disappointing. How long has this been up? I was so angry I went through anyway.

Hey, Hey, Hey.... I was just on Moores meadow not more than a week ago. Is that right on the road Bob?

Is there anyway someone could find out what happened here?
It would seem to me like it would be a pretty lengthy, red-tape laden process to get a public road turned into a private road. Therefore, I would assume there would be some public records/hearings.
Now that I'm out of the area (PA), it seems like all sorts of cards are falling in the Pines with the fires, etc.

The fires are the best things to happen to the pines.
Maybe it's just my browser, but Bob's image doesn't load for me. The page hangs for a little while, then finally displays a question mark where the image should be. What is it that you're upset about?
(edit) Nevermind, I can open the image by right clicking the question mark. Funny, I always felt a little like I was driving across somebody's private property when I went through there. Perhaps it has always been private but they just didn't stop people from driving through?

Ben,
Fires are good but the negligence involved is the scary part because it creates fires that are uncontrolled leading to dangerous situations. In the last one, there were homes damaged and people had to be evacuated.
Of all the places to have an air force bombing range, they choose an ecosystem where the first layer is basically dryer lint during the summertime (pine needles and dry leaves).
Peace,
Justin

I"m not getting the pic either, just the dreaded little red X in a box, but from what I gather from the other posts regarding the road, it isn't a good thing. I've been taking vans down that road once or twice a year as part of park led tours for a long time. Mrs. Moore even used to give us tours of her operation. What is the issue regarding fire?
Hows this, a direct upload:

That does suck
I fixed the link.
That is depressing since I use that all the time now. The reason most likely is there is a new house right close to the road that was built by a local owner, and I am sure the flow of traffic is fast, noisy, and dirty there. I bet when and if we ever find out that is the direct reason for the change.

I asked the Deputy Mayor for Tabernacle Township. This is the reply:
"This is a private road that the residents allowed access, people have been abusing this privilage by destroying their private property. The residents that own that road have decided to close it."

I kinda suspected as much. Seems a little like "no good deed goes unpunished"...
There goes my shortcut.
