    Video help?

Does anyone know of a reputable local service that can take 8mm movies, some with sound, and put them on DVD or memory cards/sticks? Thanks.

I had over 3000 feet of 8mm transfered by Tailor-made to DVD.

I took my film to a local camera store and had them handle it.

You can pick the order you want them in and can include music. Once they are digitized you can take it from there.

For what they charge you could buy a TV card and record yourself. (I have) You just need an RCA cable adapter.

They are family movies from when 8mm was all the rage, still on the reel.

You bought a card that converts movies on 8mm film to computer files? Really?

Seriously, I have read that people have had passable results by just projecting their films on a screen and recording with a video camera. Might be worth a try if you have the needed equipment.

Yep, they do that for slides using a digital camera to record them.

For the 8mm I would need to get a projector and screen; its easier and less expensive to use a service, and I'm sure the results will be better as well.
