I'm looking for a truck bed dog kennel. I'd prefer if it were for two dogs. I have two Basset Hounds, so height isn't much of an issue, but the width of the box cannot be more than about 42 inches wide. I have an 08 Sport Trac I need to fit it in.

Would it not be relatively easy to fabricate your own?
You could use good materials to have it look nice and be sturdy, make it to your, and dog's specs, and get exactly what you want for a couple afternoon's work.

+1 on fabricating your own.. for my kayaks, w/ the past 2 trucks i've owned, myself and my friends father have made racks for my trucks.. each cost about $20 in materials.. vs $300-400 for a bought one.. we made them of wood and then painted them black.. they looked and worked great..
I have a Chevy S-10, 800.00/Best offer drives it home.

Thanks for the help. Yeah, those purdy diamond plate ones are quite expensive. I'll have to add it to my to-do list.
I've always just used the portable plastic crates tied down to the truck bed for my labs. They make waterproof, insulated covers for them but I'd only use one if I was transporting a long distance. Labs are pretty hardy anyway
