Photo's at Apple Pie Hill

I was hoping to find in my collection a photo of the building that was on Apple Pie Hill, but unfortunately I have not found one showing it completely. I have found one that shows part of it, along with the large telephone poles that were there. The sign that presently is on Apple Hill occupies the location of where the building once stood. Just out of view in the bottom left corner of the picture, is the location where the US Geologic Marker once was.

The first photo was developed in February of 1975. The second photo I may have posted before, and shows a man climbing up the poles. Keep in mine this photo was taken from the top steps of the fire tower.

There was a building ON TOP OF Applie Pie Hill? I have pictures of a foundation. But I think the foundation is AT THE BASE OF the hill. I don't have it scanned though.

Yes there was a building on the top where the present sign is describing Apple Pie Hill. The foundations for the building are round, and you can still see them today. The last link shows them today. The building below the hill was the sanitarium.


This photo is the same from the top post. It shows the edge of the building from the tower in the top right of the photo. Also it shows the poles.

The next two photo's show the building in 1978 just after it had been destroyed by vandals using fire. You can see the poles in these also.
