Back around 1978 or so I spent quite a bit of time at this intersection of the Bertha Canal.

While at that location my late friend John and I took various photos and I have not been back there to see if I could make Then & Now photos. So early this morning Jessica and parked on Ringler road and walked down the path there and visited the canal. This is a photo of me after climbing a seriously leaning tree back around 1978.

It has been almost 50 cloudy years so I was not suspecting to find the exact locations but maybe this is the tree.

This is me taking a photo of John the same day in the 70s. This is at the curve in the canal near the gate to control the water.

And here it is today. This photo is turned 90 degree CCW from my photo of John above.

Last night I was looking over the aerials of the area and noticed this bridge across the Kennedy Bogs that washed out when the Blue Comet derailed back in the 30's. It looked like a semi large interesting bridge so we wanted to check it out.

Turns out it looks like this. Somewhat of a disappointment. :D

But the woods on the other side were really nice. I enjoy finding places where one can walk around freely and very little grows.
