Canada goose, found dead among others in Burlington County, tests positive for bird flu
In the recent delisting by New Jersey of bald eagles from the endangered species list, there were reservations raised by some with the possible danger posed by bird flu. (Bird flu had been found in eight dead bald eagles prior to the delisting, but it was not clear if they were killed by it, according to a story earlier this month.)
Today, KYW Newsradio reported that the first case of bird flu in Burlington County has been reported, a dead Canada goose found earlier this month in Pemberton. One hopes this isn't a harbinger of future problems for the bald eagles of New Jersey...or people of New Jersey, for that matter.
