All,

I had a new CV Joint put on my car a month ago and I am hearing clunking noises. I climbed under and both ends at the transmission and the wheel are fine. However, there is a junction in the middle of the CV that moves and rocks and I am certain that is the noise. What do you think of this? I may stop tomorrow at the dealer and let them see the video. I don't think there is any issue driving it because it would have to slide out to come apart. For that to happen I would think would be pretty tough to do.

I am going to take the video to them either this afternoon or Tuesday morning.

I went to Honda and they gave me a loaner. I showed the video to two men and one took my phone to a mechanic and showed him. He feels the CV should be solid and maybe a clip was not put in or came off. They may have to replace one portion of it but until they look at it they won’t know.
My wife likes the 2025 CRV loaner. Maybe I should have not accepted it :D

There should be a circular spring clip in the middle of the splines that go into the transaxle. That should take care of that end-play.

They mentioned that but they would not say it was the issue. I can see why they didn’t. I am pretty confident you are correct.
I just don’t like the fact that those individuals I spoke with may not even be there when it is being looked over, and our discussions are not in the mechanics head. Hopefully, what was written in the computer by a different individual is clear.
