There was a thread I cant find which mentioned "lock bridge" on the Mullica below Atsion. I think I found a source for this in a $1.00 pamphlet I purchased at the Atsion ranger station yesterday. It's called "Atsion a town of four faces", published in 1979. I don't know how I missed it all these years.
In 1804 Henry Drinker when was trying to sell his share in the Atsion Ironworks he was listing assets.
On page 10 "About 1 or 2 miles below the forge is a lock or dam, an excellent seat for a rolling and slitting mill to which the bar iron from the Forge can be conveyed by water".
Visitors can see the remains of a more recient bridge there, but nobody builds a dam for nothing. I wonder what it powered.
