Spent some time today with some PBX'ers along Deep Run. Pineland Paddler, Hewey and I have been trying to hook up for over a year and the stars finally aligned today. We met up on 206 in the afternoon and drove back to Deep Run. We did a sweep to the north and another sweep to the south enjoying a crisp and clear afternoon in the woods.
I was surprised to get decent cell service back there and we were able to use Boyd's Maps in real time to explore several topographic anomalies that proved to be charcoal mounds and a tar kiln. Thank you Boyd for all of your endless work in putting together a seamless mapping program that can be used almost anywhere to put history beneath your feet. It is truly amazing what you have done
It has been twenty years since Gabe, Chris and I first met because of PBX. We have all made lifetime friendships because of that and because the dedication of bobpbx and Teegate and a long list of others in keeping things alive.
Here's to another twenty years!!
