All,
First, Jessica found a new location for Pickerings Morning-glory. We were walking and talking about it and she pointed to the ground and said "like this one." We searched for more but it is only in one spot as far as we can tell. I reported it and doubt anyone knows of this one plant. It is possible, so we shall find out sometime soon I expect.
Today we visited the Parker Preserve at the end of Baptist road and did some exploring. We have not been there in a while. As was the last time we visited the gate was smashed down, and appears to have never been replaced. We walked Long Causeway and noticed that they have done quite a bit of work there. And, the road is open and one can travel all of Long Causeway as many people are doing.
Here is a Then And Now.
The very deep trench that use to be on the causeway is no longer there. Notice the vehicle tracks. This location was hard to even walk up the last time we were there.
The one other chiclet location has water but can easily be crossed.
It just seems odd they have not replaced the gate. Either they were forced to open it or just decided to keep it open? Any other thoughts on this?
We were walking the dikes and trapped this rabbit where in order for it to get away it would have to run through us or swim. We moved and let it escape.
