We spent the morning walking around the area near Wescott today. We revisited the dam and bridge as well as other places.

Then & Now 20 years later

We went because the water levels are low.

We revisited a few of the monuments in the area. This is the 1935 Burlington County #62

What's it like out there Guy in the main open section? All grown up now?

I did not get there today. I will get there hopefully soon if it doesn't rain. I am sure it has changed. And the reason I say that is because the area NE of the bog itself has changed dramatically. The trees grew much higher and some sort of grass is growing now maybe caused by the fire. It is not crispy crunchy like it was when there back then.

Here it is 20 years ago and I liked the area better back then.

We returned today and found this platform build in the space unearthed by a tree falling over.

This platform is different in the fact someone actually supported it quite well with supports on the corners and the center. I have to assume a hunter was using it . Any other idea's?

This bridge was quite strong.

Scott, we made it to the weir with no real issues. And to the old tractor wheels you showed us on the PBX hike years ago.

Bob, we did not get to any of the open bogs and left for other places pretty quickly.

Regarding that platform, a couple decades ago, I was going to build one just like that (maybe not use concrete) up in the highlands where Webbs Mill Branch source is. I wanted to put one on an elevation that looked over a couple fields. Just because I wanted a place to sit and ponder.

On the one you show, maybe a photographer wants a super stable place to take wildlife photos. Was it in that kind of space?

It was along a stream so maybe it was for that. But he would not be able to see the stream. Maybe photographing a bird of some sort because it was lower than the ground around it.
