206 in general is dangerous road. People pass in traffic like no other road I’ve seen. The entrance/exit to Quaker bridge is terrible. It’s a steep climb up just to see if cars are coming and if you can cross. It’s equally startling for cars coming north on 206. Combined with someone turning onto Atsion, while someone is coming up Quaker and it’s a disaster. They should close the beginning of Quakerbridge and force the right or left into Atsion parking lot and then route around to Quakerbridge. That is what I do to access as the beginning is to sketchy when exiting.

Another article. How ghastly. My son has been working at Pinelands Adventures this summer so I've been making turns at that intersection a lot recently. Sometimes I do the sprint across 206 from Atsion onto Quaker Bridge and go for a run after dropping him off in the morning. There are some pretty bad sight lines there, for sure.

I’d highly suggest to always go thru the Atsion mansion parking lot when leaving. I drive 206 a lot and live on Atsion. I’ve seen cars nosing out off Quakerbridge while cars will try to pass on right as people turn left onto Atsion, just a bad spot. People also spin tires trying to get across and misjudge timing and nearly cause accidents.

I heard it go out and listened to it unfold as they cut them out. After seeing the pictures on the news my best guess is that they were pulling out off of QBR. I couldn’t agree with you more. Pulling out of the ranger station is a much safer option.

I agree. Most likely crossing from Carranza and was hit by the southbound vehicle.

And wouldn’t be surprised if they didn’t gas it enough or were dealing with sunset. Or sadly watching sunset as so many do or are distracted by.
I made the same turn (Quaker Bridge to S 206) about 30 minutes before they did, and while craning my neck and squinting into the sunset, it definitely occurred to me that this was not a very safe maneuver. Ranger station henceforth, thanks.
