I guess some of you have already had snow this season? Nothing here yet, awhile ago we had a light dusting that melted quickly, so this might be our first snow of the season. Map shows me on the edge of the 2" zone. My snow thrower's gonna stay in storage, it's been 4 years (?) since I've had it out. As long as my car can drive through it, I don't clear my so-called driveway. :D

Updated warning(s) below. Every time I check the NWS site, the snow totals are different. Weather Underground is predicting less snow. We'll find out for ourselves pretty soon...

Additional info from the NWS
Expect snow to reach Philly before sunrise, with a coating to an inch possible
by 7 AM, but further southwest, 2-4 inches will likely already
be on the ground across the Delmarva where rates will already be
starting to get heavy. Winds will be light despite the increasing snow.
Total snow amounts with this event look to be 5 to 10 inches with locally up 12 inches across our
Delmarva zones, portions of extreme SE PA (eastern Chester and
Delaware Counties) and southern NJ where the Winter Storm Warnings
are in effect. For the tier of zones north of here that are under a Winter Weather Advisory,
generally expect 2 to 4 inches. This includes Philadelphia proper, Montgomery County, and
southern Bucks. Amounts will further taper north of here to just a couple inches or less.

Seems like they really aren't sure about this one yet, storm is only 9 or 10 hours away, normally they would have issued maps of projected snowfall by now. Or maybe everyone at the NWS is still away for the holidays? :D

Interesting that two hours later, the "tail" of that storm is still anchored around Corpus Christi while the head is advancing towards us.

You wouldn't think "moderate snowfall" would require a state of emergency... but better safe than sorry I guess. And probably a lot of people on the roads tomorrow after an extended holiday season this year. Stay safe and warm everyone!

Not going anywhere myself... will be cozy here, georeferencing the 1970 aerials. Have done about 130 so far, which is good but there are another 250, which isn't. :clint:

Jessica is off tomorrow as our schools are closed. It should be interesting to see how much or little we get.
