Yeah, the marbled sals were cool, surprised i'm still finding them since my field guide says above ground in fall. But then again salamanders don't read field guides. Maybe i'll have a chance finding a Tiger Salamander???? Or maybe i'm just pushing my luck.

This land is privately owned.. i know the marbled sal is a "species of concern", is there anything that can be done to maybe get permission from the land owners for the state to check out the area or even protect the area or what?

Unfortunatly i won't be able to meet up with you anytime soon. But the reason is because i'll be in NC. So i feel okay about it. Perhaps at some point when i get back . . . also jay and I just got our inflatable kayaks, so we'll likely be searching for maps (in the delaware) and softshells soon after . . . perhaps manumuskin. You interested?

I'm in cumberland county alot and around the maurice, manumuskin, and muskee rivers. Have not seen a softy yet though but probably need a small boat to give my self a good shot. I've heard bull island(I think that is the name) on the delaware is a good spot for maps. If you guys are going out to manumuskin I'm out there every tuesday hiking so let me know. Thanks

Manumuskin almost backs up to menatico ponds. It is a similar type place with the sand wash ponds but also is connected to the manumuskin river. It personally is my favorite place because of the diversity in wildlife it offers. I know that whole area pretty well so if you want to pm me feel free. By the way did you release that hognose?
