    Paving Savoy Blvd (Pasadena Road)

Hopefully they're fixing that intersection, I agree, it's definitely tough to see around the concrete supports. Earlier this year I was driving there pretty late and there was a really bad accident, I just hoped everyone involved was alright, the cars were bad though. The pavement isn't...

    RAIN?

Sorry, should have specified, the days yes, but late at night it has been getting to the low 60's/high 50's, which is a tad chilly to me. Throw a pullover hoodie on and you're good, but it's still not t-shirt and shorts at midnight, lol.

Article: Please Stop Tagging the Locations of Your Outdoor Photographs

I have a small group of friends on IG that are all pine barrens explorers and photographers, and we have a few rules we stick to. "Take nothing but pictures, leave nothing but footprints" "Never tag an exact location, unless it's something obvious like a marked trail in a state park, etc." We...

    RAIN?

Agreed! I plan on getting out and taking some pictures this weekend, day and night, looks like it's going to be chilly and clear, nothing better!

    RAIN?

I was in Chatsworth last night, it rained pretty hard for about an hour or so around 8-9PM, then tapered off to a light drizzle on and off until 10. From 10-11 the skies cleared up a bit, some stars came out and the moon was lightning the road.

    Then & Now Photos

Love this thread, thank you for all of the before and after photos! I especially love the one of Friendship! Also, is this the bog near Martha that has that packing facility?

    Ticks & Chiggers--a study

Here's a good article on Ticks and the rise of them across the country in recent years. https://www.wired.com/story/we-have-no-idea-how-bad-the-us-tick-problem-is/?mbid=synd_digg

Research Paper Question: What are the popular places people visit throughout the Pine Barrens?

I have a bunch of pics I recently took on my DSLR of Brooksbrae if you're interested. From what I've seen, that is probably one of the most visited (by the crowd we prefer to not associate with) places in the pines. There's also an abandoned water tower off Savoy that younger people definitely...

    Help on Applegate Sawmill

This thread is very interesting, I've been exploring Cattus Island for a few years now, as it is very close to where I live/grew up. I did not know all of the history that was there though! I'm also wondering if there is any link of the Applegate Sawmill to the old Applegate Hardware store in...

South Jersey man's hiking blog has half million fans, and climbing

I've found your site to be invaluable! Thank you for the great write-ups, photos and descriptions! Also, just for showing people what beauty there is in our wonderful pines! A lot of people I meet talk about how the only places to camp/hike are out by PA and up north... I love proving them wrong.

    Ticks & Chiggers--a study

Wow, thank you guys for all of the info! I will definitely have to pick up those products! Also, my wife works with Doterra essential oils, so I'll pick her brain about some oils as well. I know peppermint will make ticks back right out, if they have bitten, but I'd rather prevent them from...

    Ticks & Chiggers--a study

Haha, thanks man! Yeah, I look forward to meeting some fellow NJPB members, I'll have to come to the next meetup! Awesome, thank you! I'll pick that up and be sure to set a reminder the day before to spray my clothes and shoes! I am going for the photo op's (I post all my photos on Instagram...

    Ticks & Chiggers--a study

Okay, so I have to ask, as this will be my first summer out hiking through the pines. What are some of the best preventative measures one can take to avoid coming out covered in ticks/chiggers? Is there a spray of some sort I can cover my legs/feet in before I leave the car to keep them from...
