    Bass River Fire

The area is off my backyard, only have seen it referred to as Lakeview/Highbridge homeowners association land. It's part of my daily dog walking/biking trails. I know there used to be a camp there (outhouse ruins still there). Maybe the camp name? The area is sandwiched between the...

    Bass River Fire

Does anyone know why the named the Medford fire "Flatiron" or generally how they name wildfires? I'm not aware of anything in that area called Flatiron.

    Wharton State Forest Marker

Ah, I see. First time I've seen those bogs referred to as "Braddock's Bog". Is there a map or other source with that name? Thks.

    Wharton State Forest Marker

Does anyone know if the property demarcated by those stones encompass the old bogs (Jobstown Bogs)? The only thing I've ever been able to learn about the bogs is that they date back to around the 1870s, and from old photos, speculate they were abandoned sometime before 1920-30s.

    Natural Stone Formation?

Came upon some stones, unclear if they are natural, dumped or part of an old ruin possibly? The large single stone had what appeared to be drill holes. Location is near the water tower on the Medford - Shamong boarder, off the high tension wires road in a small pit area. Any thoughts?

    Illegal Structure In Wharton

Maybe a stealth (COVID) New Year's Eve party spot. The shiny banner says "Happy...." something... and with all the party supplies, bbq, etc. The walls look like pallets, but on closer inspection, maybe some kind of fencing? Looks like too many paid for things to be homeless person IMO, and no...

    Old thing found

Anybody know what this is? Pretty heavy, about 8" across. Assuming it's old iron, maybe a clasp to hold an axel onto a wagon? Found on the north side of Jobstown Bogs in Medford.

Stone And Property Corner Searching...Fall/Winter 2020-2021

Yep, I'll bet that was it. Quite a large and complex event, could have been dangerous for someone wondering in. We walked up to the clearing but quickly left when we realized they were shooting arrows, and we were mid-range. Couldn't find any photos.

Stone And Property Corner Searching...Fall/Winter 2020-2021

A few months ago my son & I were riding along the western side of that field in Wharton. We couldn't figure out what was going on exactly, but there were maybe 200+ people, most dressed in either medieval or Viking garb at the range. It looked like they were grouped at either end of the field...

    West Jersey Cranberry Meadow

Got it, thank you. Great maps! There was an app, think OnxHunt/OnXoffroad, that had the landowners names in the parcels. Free demo, but then paid. Not a hunter so I did not sign up and lost access. I guess only the paid apps have that level of detail?

    West Jersey Cranberry Meadow

Hi, been a while since I posted. Interested in WJCB area history and future. Does anyone know if the area (parcel) beyond the gate (northern entrance), but before the southern most structure was sold to state? The blue outline above appears to exclude it in the private sale mentioned. The...

Favorite running and biking spots in the Pine Barrens

Penn Branch trail is 19 miles, about 2 hours 15 minutes +/-. Other trails out of Batso for many alternate loops. Nice single track and some new bridges over wet areas, best early mornings in the fall, spring, winter. Mostly flat, but still can be a nice workout. Park at Batso or Quaker...

    Mullica Put-in Options

Great, thanks for all the info. Since Constable Bridge is only 45 minutes from Crawley's (I originally thought about 1.5 hours) - maybe start here for a target 3.5 hours.... https://www.google.com/maps/@39.7008123,-74.6789532,239m/data=!3m1!1e3 I think thats where the Wilderness Area sign...
