Was out today on my dualsport and came upon a pile of couches and a large white trash bag dumped near the end of the dirt part of what I believe to be Mt Misery Rd. Just before you cross Rt 70. As I passed the pile I noticed that I could see an envelope through the plastic trash bag. I turned around and dug the envelope out, hoping to find a address. I found several names and PO box #s from Brownsmills as well as what looks to be a crack pipe. Is it worth it to go to the authorities and report this? Does anything ever come of it? What have you guys done in similar situations?

By all means, report it! I had a similar situation with some illegal dumping I found on land that I was responsible for and the local police did act on it. In this case it was roughly a pick-up bed worth of mostly empty and partially empty paint cans, along with related trash. Among the trash was packaging with a local auto body shop’s shipping address. Oops!

Thirding the "report it" sentiment. Then report back with what they said.

Someone had dumped a couple of loads along the shoulder of Dover Rd in Dbl Trbl. Called it in. Next time I went past, it was all gone. Hopefully they also left their address.

Stopped by the local pd this morning on my way to work and reported it. The officer recognized the names right away and told me there was a warrant out for the individuals arrest already. I asked if my name would make it back to them and he said it could depending on how far I wanted to take this, possible court date and so on. He could see I was uncomfortable with that and will pass it on to the public works dept to see if they could pick the junk up. Went by the spot on my way home and it was still there. Hopefully they pick the stuff up soon.

My wife and I were on Carranza at the little bridge before Friendship after she noticed something floating in the water. We stopped and discovered it was a TV and on the other side of the road there is a mattress, as we were looking a SPP officer stopped and said they would have maintenance pick it up, it is still there.

If I was sure that my township would take the couches, I might just go and pick it up myself. Ive been thinking about doing a cleanup around that area but just dont know what to do with all the tires that are dumped out there. I dont feel like paying $5 bucks a tire to dump someone elses crap at the municipal building. I also come across alot of gay porn out there! Usually deeper in the woods. The whole Presidential Lakes/Country Lakes area is a mess!

Call Phil at Public Works and explain your situation. Maybe he can help. I worked with Pemberton Clean communities in P.L. last fall but most of the cleaning was in the Deep Hollow area. If you get the approval PM me and if I'm not doing anything I'll give you a hand.
