Stand up paddleboard on Pine Barrens Rivers?

I really dont think its feasible on the major rivers unless you are speaking of slower sections of the Mullica. I wouldnt want to try that on Cedar Creek, the Wading, Batsto, or Oswego for sure.

    New Sign

I can see the rationale in not replacing Marcy Dam due to the bear issue, as I've seen them there firsthand on numerous occasions. I do wish the DEC would consider replacing the dam at Duck Hole, though. That was a gorgeous area with much less foot traffic.

They're going to have to do something regarding campers sooner than later. Either install the bear-proof storage boxes like many national parks have or make campers use bear canisters like the mandatory ones in most backcountry areas. We used to hang bear bags in the Adirondacks until they...

This usually limited release made it's way to Jersey. Definitely worth picking up if you see it. Great double IPA.

Two Bear Sightings Reported In Winslow Township

Yep, there is at least one in Whiting. Talked to a few people who had it in their yard and took some pics. Probably the one they released in Brenden Byrne last year.

Was recently at Philly Beer Week. Got to try some of the world's top beers and man was it worth the short trip. I think beer advocate has the best rating system and its the one I see most widely used at retail stores to rate their shelf beer. The first pic is KBS (Kentucky Breakfast Stout) and...

Christie Moves to Replace Two Members of NJ Pinelands Commission

Better look at who you are sending this too. A consistent rule breaker, liar, and do as I say, not as I do governor.

Christie Moves to Replace Two Members of NJ Pinelands Commission

I wonder if they would eventually be able to re-visit the gas pipeline proposal even though it was voted down? My guess is yes. It's a shame so many greedy people get caught up in the hustle and bustle of either politics or just making a dime that the environment becomes so insignificant to them.

Had this ale the other day, very good. It's a limited release and had no price on it and I thought the register rang it up wrong... $17.99 for one 12.7 oz bottle. Only live once right? It was great but I won't be making that purchase again.

Over a month with no action here... got my hands on a few of these (Heady Topper) while in PA last week. A buddy from VT helped me out. Apparently its the #1 beer in the world right now. I certainly thought so.

    Piney River Paddle

Did a nice little paddle a few days ago. Brought the tent and camped by the river. Left it like we found it of course and didnt see a soul the entire evening and morning. We did startle 4-5 wood ducks during our paddle out, along with a bunch of deer catching drinks from the river, saw a Jake...

    Walpack for the weekend

Nice report. I had to cancel turkey hunting due to all the rain upstate NY was getting. Funny, I almost went up to Bear Creek, but the weather didnt look too great there either. Hit a river in the pines and camped out instead.

    Walpack for the weekend

I stay at the campground frequently, the owner Ken is a nice guy. Great trout fishing in the flatbrook and this the time of year. Walpack Inn is right there for fine food and spirits. We always stop in the Flatbrook Taphouse for a few after fly fishing all day. Enjoy your trip, I'll be in...

New fire burning in south New Jersey

Nah, been very dry and when it's that dry and the wind is strong and gusts over 30 knots it's def a danger zone. Plus there's still so much dead wood down from Sandy. Probably idiots chucking cigs out their windows.
