I carry a map of the Barrens in my head,Sorry I can't upload it for you. It's just a basic road map but I use a Magellan Triton handheld GPS for finer stuff like stone ;ocations and hard to hit islands in the swamps. Gettin lost ain't that bad.It helps to build that head map a little bit better...

I have never heard of anyone in forty years of going there being hassled about driving to the pit or above it for that matter but it's tight up there. If the road was the issue I think Haines would block it.I think he's just covering himself if you get hurt there.

That board is in the wrong side of the crik.I think it's before my time.board was on west side of crik when I was there.

I"m no historian s I can only tell what I know from personal experience from the 70's till now.I kjnow a little of the3 history of Fries Mill but I know where things are:-) I have some stroies from my time at Hollybrook as well. It's ashame they closed it up.Places like that do kids good.
