    game camera success

I am using left over meat. Mostly chicken, this last time was a pork roast and chicken, ham bone. My flash is visible. Mine is set to take a pick every minute which is the fastest setting on the camera.

    Searching Cape May County

Nice. I've done very little exploring in Cape May county, it is a pleasure to see photos from this area.

    Bear Swamp, Cumberland County

the secret to a successful sequel is 1)higher body count 2)more gore 3) more nudity. Oh wait, it's just you two...never mind the nudity thing. Come to think of it, I'm just thinking of horror movies, so forget everything I just said. Jeff

    Pinelands panelists get recusal directive

Good. I am glad the clustering endorsement from the Pinelands commission is coming into question. I am against it. I am surprised Stephan Lee is singled out however. I don't know him but from what I know of him, he does not seem like a likely threat to preservation. As for it going against...

Bobpbx says "Someone Snatched The Nash"

Nice report Scott! and yes, that was me. With my bronco temporarily out of commission I was forced to use my motorcycle to retrieve my game camera. http://forums.njpinebarrens.com/showthread.php?t=6121It was a cold but brief ride. That Vietnam jacket is the best. Jeff

Bobpbx says "Someone Snatched The Nash"

You guys are killing me with a hike on Valentine's day. I didn't know about it till too late (not that it would have mattered on Valentine's day). Looks like it was a good one! We'll have to talk about some of the things you guys found. Nice report!! BTW, that thing you found, that Scott...

    game camera success

I have a game camera that I have put out on a number occasions with little success. I have caught deer, but little else. I'm not a hunter but just do it for kicks. I had a spot near my house that I have had the camera at, off and on, for months. The bait (meat) is always consumed but never...

    Clearings slightly south of nowhere

I think that that is excellente speculation. It is amazing that these areas retain that character for such a long period of time. Jeff

    Cycle racing in the Pines

That is the truth. Well stated.

    Destruction at Mount

that is a shame. As Jim mentioned, I think a guard rail (though not pleasant to look at) might be the most practical solution.

    Clearings slightly south of nowhere

I see what you are saying, but what accounts for the nearly complete lack of growth in these areas. That hill with the large sandstones still has alot of tree growth on it?

    Clearings slightly south of nowhere

Oh yeah, I remember that thread and report, but I had forgotten that you had that clearing in there. You guys beat me to it. I noticed "the earth is only 6,000 years old" scribled in the sand near the mound. That should have been a dead giveaway. Jeff

Cool Gabe!! That is a significant find.

Ice Age relicts at Ground Zero

I would agree with you in most situations but I think the scientific community is the exception. I think adding validity and awareness to the regions bio-uniqueness is going to become a serious factor in preservation efforts in the future. As Bob and Mark eluded to...making this knowledge...

    Bear Swamp, Cumberland County

Ahhhhh, nice swamp. Looks ancient, prehistoric, like it was 5,999 years ago. Seriously, great place!!! Jeff

    Ghost in Sweetwater

Is it possible that a living person can have a ghost from an earlier age? If so, I think that is the ghost of 12 year old Gabe hoping he has a beer in his Christmas stocking. Jeff

    Clearings slightly south of nowhere

the woods along the Roberts branch in Wharton is seriously thick. Recently a set of clearings worked it's way into some PBX conversations, but attempts to reach them seemed just too far off of schedule. I had seen these clearings before in aerials and had been curious for some time, so I...

    A spring day in February....

Very nice. I don't recall ever coming across that one. It is amazing it is not shot up. Here is a pic of Guy going for a sunday drive in the (then) recently burnt over area of Warren Grove. Jeff

    A walk in the snow

Squirellcicle!!!! That is great! Ed, that shot belongs on a calander or one of those animal humor books. Seriously, you ought to look into that. Jeff
