Pinelands Commission to vote on adoption of road, trail map of Wharton State Forest

"It is obvious that the Pinelands Commission is being pushed by irrational and clueless individuals" leaves no room for difference of opinion and discussion on this obviously polarizing issue but I guess we all are allowed to have opinions.

Harrisville Lake tree removal and grading

Just speculating but I believe the reason Absegami and Harrisville were not cleared for decades was due to the low threat level assessment but there number unfortunately came up after all these years.

Which metal detector is best for treasure hunting

You may want to reach out to folks like these for guidance on where its allowed (not many places) and where it is allowed what areas do best and what equipment they recommend. The beaches in North Jersey for instance the days after Superstorm Sandy were apparently a good place to be to find...

Research Paper Question: What are the popular places people visit throughout the Pine Barrens?

Batsto village is probably the most visited. Whitesbog historic village, Chatsworth Cranberry Festival, Atsion Lake recreation center and Atsion mansion area are a few places that come to mind. Apple Pie Fire Tower (less so now because it is only open when a fire official is present). There is...

Possible Government Shut-down may affect your weekend..

"WHO" said that :) Great band! Christie had put a freeze on increasing the number of SPP. Whoever the next Governor is I will certainly be advocating for additional funds for hiring additional PP, road maintenance and historic preservation (what's left of it).

State Police and Park Police will still be working. All state campgrounds closed. If somebody is near a major access point (Quaker...

Possible Government Shut-down may affect your weekend..

Folks currently camping at Belleplain have been advised they will need to vacate by 11am tomorrow due to this. The broad nature of the messaging leaves too many questions unanswered. State permitted livery operations...Micks, Bel Haven , etc etc...are they able to offer services (possibly no due...

Possible Government Shut-down may affect your weekend..

Absolutely appalling and unacceptable. It does not affect me directly but for the thousands of families and individuals to have their weekend and holiday plans disrupted by this level of incompetence is truly disturbing.

    Closing West Mill Road

By Hammonton entering into a License Agreement it would appear as though Hammonton is claiming ownership of this "unnamed road" (?) Was Hammonton then responsible for this section of road's upkeep? If yes, would the $5,000 license agreement - 1) put money into Hammonton's coffers and 2) remove...

    RAIN?

Yeah its quite striking how narrow these microbursts can be. It was pretty bad in Collingswood. Check out the homes damaged and trees down in on this video from this morning: http://6abc.com/weather/powerful-storms-uproot-trees-cause-power-outages-in-pa-nj/2140284/
