    White Christmas

Got about 3 inches in Moorestown. The main roads were so heavily salted that they merlted quickly, the backroads did not fare so well and got packed down and slippery real quick. I expect black ice conditions tonight could be a problem. And I agree, it's been a cold winter and I hope Tuesdays...

    White Christmas

Snow Shoveling Humor This would have been more relevant last year, let's hope we don't repeat it this year. December 8 – 6:00 PM It started to snow. The first snow of the season! The wife and I took our cocktails and sat for hours by the window watching the huge soft flakes drift down...

    White Christmas

If you don't already have one, make sure your next shovel is the "back saver" model. These models really help to reduce the stress on your lower back.

    Friendship

I am certainly not making excuses for the idiots that do this sort of thing, but out of curiosity does anyone know if there are signs around this area prohibiting such behavior? I just can't recall if one is there or not.

    Hunting

Hunters--Americas other Army From an email that I received today; The state of Wisconsin has gone an entire deer hunting season without someone getting killed. That's great. There were over 600,000 hunters. Allow me to restate that number. Over the last two months, the eighth largest army in...

    The taxman cometh

I'd have to agree with that. He appears to be paying $295K in property taxes, plus who knows how much in State Income taxes. By holding empty land, he is also not contributing to more sprawl, so I think he is paying his way. Heck, we need more like him. :clint:

Apple Pie Hill Has Been Closed To The Public

I agree, kind of I guess we all saw this coming and taking action is probably way overdue. But placing signs forbidding all trespassing is a bit much for the initial actions. I agree with the no vehicles approach and gating of the road would be better yet. I also expect that preventing vehicles...

help me find this Forgotton sandy bank?

That looks like the clearing about a 1/4 mile off Quaker Bridge road. If taking Quaker Bridge road from 206, it would be the last road to the left just before reaching QB.

    HP 882C Printer

FYI, If you can't find a home for your old hardware, you can recycle old PC hardware, working or not at most Goodwill centers. They have a program with Dell, who actually does the recycling. It's a good way to keep them out of the landfills. I've taken dozens of old PCs, Monitors, Printers...

    Southern Pine Bark Beetle

Let it live! I've been told that I may have the largest Catalpa in the state growing in my front yard. It goes up straight like a telephone pole (which is unusual) and has to be at least 80 feet tall. Other than being a dirty tree with the newspaper size leaves it drops, along with bean pods and...

    Fellow Smokers

Dave, I hope your E cigs are a way to wean you off tobacco entirely and not just a replacement for cigarettes. As I'm sure you know quitting will be the absolute best thing you could ever do for your health. I gave up smoking many years ago, after 6 years of use and know how difficult it can be...

    Chilean miners being rescued....

They decided to bring out only a few of the strongest first so that if problems happened on the way out, these miners would better suited to deal with the problems. Clearing rock, etc After they were rescued the weaker ones would then follow and then the remaining stronger ones.
