    Driftin' 'round The Forge

I guess I am down on my hands and knees allot taking pics...lol. Kind of hard not to when you step back and all you see is mans' careless side. Took this one today. On a brighter, note I made a gallery of the Blue Bog Hole. Edit: I did go find a stick and pried that bottle out of the ice.

Thanks. Your gonna laugh, but 99% are shot with a Canon SD400 5 MP, fits nice in the pocket. I have an older Canon G1 I use for night shots. I had a film SLR but broke the lens mount years ago and never went back. Hopefully I will have a DSLR by spring.

Ocean County poised for Forked River Mountains purchase

I have a few friends in Forked River that are pissed about this because they believe they will not be able to drive out there anymore. Is this true? Will things change with the purchase?

    Oswego River Preserve

My new pet peeve is deer guts. I have come across two gutting spots. One at Stafford Forge, right on the beach where everyone comes and parks. The other, on the road to the Warren Grove Bog. Both were right on the road and had been driven over. The people had left rubber gloves covered with...

The Orphan Works Art Bill Re-introduced

I forgot to mention the petition, thanks. I also called my new Rep., Congressman John Adler. His office had no idea about this because they are all new staffers. I expect a call back though.

That would explain the large amount of bricks there, perhaps an old patio.

    Oswego River Preserve

Well if you find it here is what your reward will look like. Of course I am standing in front of a burnt pile of trash... ;-) BTW, don't try to drive in. There are poles in the road to prevent vehicles and you can't turn around. That is how the people I saw today got stuck... twice.

    Oswego River Preserve

It has a gate (that is open) and you can't see the pond from the road. I left a red tool case I found out there on one of the poles next to the gate. Hard to miss. I also packed about half a barrel of bottles and cans out from the road near it. I am going to clean that area up before spring and...

    Oswego River Preserve

Well I went back out there today. I hope that was not any of you guys I saw stuck in the rocks... and I am sure the Conservancy doesn't like ATV's ripping up their road either. I borrowed a SLR to photo the otter but with all the yelling and tires spinning I am sure it was scared off...

    Today's trip 12/30

Just looked the Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge page. I always thought this was only on both sides of Route 72. I go to the Bridge to Nowhere about once a month so I thought that was it. Thanks for the info, I might go down to "HQ" tomorrow. Is there a better time of day to see eagles?

    Today's trip 12/30

I used to do allot of engineering work and even played golf in Brigantine, but I don't know where the areas your mentioning are. If I just drive through the city towards the peninsula (15th street N) will I find these areas? Is it accessible by non four wheel drive?

    Oswego River Preserve

I made it out to Oswego River Preserve today which is a small lake at the end of Beaver Dam Road off Long Causeway Road near Warren Grove (not near Lake Oswego). A nice little spot. Unfortunately the recurring theme I see again and again of "bottles and cans" is out of control there. I would...

    Barney gets re-lit!

That is funny we were so close. I was the one taking all the pictures kneeling on the ground with my little antique tripod. I was completely psyched it was re-lit. I just had a vision of being able to see the beam. With a little moisture or snow in the air it would have been surreal. When...
