Whitesbog cleanup was a wash today so I took a walk in the woods with some new friends and found this.

Last Sunday I helped the PPA with a cleanup in Whitesbog(Ben announced it in the Get togethers forum) and worked with Ben, Russ, Emile DeVito, PPa members and members of the Philadelphia Botanical Club. I am very impressed by their dedication. Today I signed up with the PPa.

Yes, I know them all and spent many nights hanging out with them at Highway Tire in Browns Mills. Nights that usually ended in a race on Mt Misery Rd. I went to P.T.H.S. in the 70s and became friends with Mr. Harris and would go to house.

I never raced at Strato-Rods but I knew Walt Harris who let me work there for free admission. Several of my friends from Browns Mills raced there and Jim was qualifying for his Funnycar license there. Do you know the current owner of the R/T?

A white Coronet R/T

The compressor broke on saturday so after getting it repaired on monday two members worked wednesday and got the rail spiked. then they rolled the caboose on it to settle it down. On sunday we'll be going somewhere in Pa. to prep the boxcar for the trip.

I just looked it up on PPA's website. They do it in June and it looks very interesting, I think I'll check it out next year.

Instead of the usual meeting tonight the Pemberton Twp. Environmental Commission went to the P.P.A. for a presentation about pinebarrens flowers given by Russ Juelg. It was a very interesting and informative presentation and I found Russ to be a very good source of info.
