    Sunday Hunting Bill Voting 3-16-09

The Assembly voting yesterday was resoundingly in favor of the sportsmen with the tally being 69 for, to 8 opposed. Pretty surprising in the Demoncrat atmosphere that we have here in NJ.

    Sunday Hunting Bill Voting 3-16-09

You and I have the same philosophy. Try explaining a "tower shoot" to a non-hunter as I had to do this weekend. It is no wonder hunters get a black eye with some of crazy-ass pay to kill hunts that are available to the gun toting man who just doesn't want to put his time in. I deer hunted...

    Sunday Hunting Bill Voting 3-16-09

Well I poured the gas now let me throw in the match. Next year it looks certain that crossbows will be legal! They are currently allowed by permit for disabled huinters. I have been hunting 41 years in NJ and I don't support Sunday hunting nor do I support the crossbow legalization. I...

    Sunday Hunting Bill Voting 3-16-09

An assembly bill, A1669, allowing Sunday bow hunting on private property and State wildlife management areas is scheduled for a vote today in the assembly. There is a sister bill known as the proximity bill, A595, whch will reduce the 450' distance currently required from a hunter to a...

West Plains Oswego, A PBX Hike

If you ever get by Atco, stop in Atco Sports on Atco Avenue. (856)-767-9446 They always have Lacrosse in Stock. I am a firm believer in giving the local mom and pops the business whenever possible. I have bought a lot of guns there over the years and they truly appreciate the business. I...

West Plains Oswego, A PBX Hike

That looked very challenging. That's the way I like'em. Now we have part two of this hike hanging out there and part two of the Bog Slog on the incomplete list as fill-ins. Nice find on the sawmill boys.

    Beer (again)

Well Gabe I couldn't quite pull the trigger on $8.99 for a bottle of beer which was not quite the equivalent of two 12 oz. beers tonight. I had a little sticker shock for once. I settled for a sixer of Lagunitas New Dog Town. Tough times are coming up right now with my older son starting the...

    The Fox

I went past the Fox tonight around 6 and the beer distributor was hanging up a large banner over the entrance. "Gala St. Patricks Party March 14, featuring Girls Light and Killians Irish Red" says the banner. I went by again a half hour later and it was half off and flapping. Beer lights were...

Anybody with access to a tow vehicle...?

My tow rating is 13,000 lbs. How much beer you reckon it'll take to get there and back? :) We could pick up some Old Dominion oak barrel stout when we get there. PM me with some more detail on location and I'l start working on the bride.

    Gun clubs? or shooting ranges?

It is amazing how many people will argue that you need to carry your NJ Firearms Purchasers Identification card with you when transporting your weapons. I have lots of friends that hunt that swear that it's required. My card stays at home except for afew times a year when I buy a gun. The card...

    Jersey Devil

It's on again right now. The woods captain from Clementon Gun Club in the show, is a good very friend of mine. We went to college together at Rutgers, Cook College. He is a good guy and has a BS in wildlife management from Cook. I know a lot of the guys from the club and they really had a lot...

    Lines on the Pines

Poor Gabe fell asleep before 94 year old Harold Boyd did. Of course Mr. Boyd probably didn't imbibe a belly full of high octane micro brews prior to launch. :)

    Directions to Ongs Hat

I have no experience with water filters and have dumbly (is that a word?) drank from the Batsto and Wading many times with no ill effects. Of course that was foll0wed by lots of beer and homemade wine. I have swilled the Albertson Branch a few times too. I believe the flitration systems work...

    Lines on the Pines

I'll have you know that me, my wife, Largo, Hinchman's Hill and Long-A-Coming were the only ones that stood up to be cpounted when asked who was representin' NJPB. They separated the table niners this year and Bob, Guy, Gabe, Jess and Chuck got placed together. They looked like a table full of...

A Morning In The Pine With My Father-In-Law

Very nice report Guy. Count your blessings. I loved taking woods rides with my father or my father in law when my kids were little. I used to shove the kids between us in the pickup and cruise the "deer woods" as my father would call it. My father in law liked cruising off Jackson Road...
