Drop me a private message and I'll give you directions. Teegate may have a better way to get there because the way I went in did say "No Tresspassing" Tom

Once again I throw something out there which I really know virtually nothing about and I get a huge amount of info back from the fine folks on this site. Thanks guys. Anybody want to explore the area let me know. Might be better to do in the fall. Tom

    The Summit

Anybody familiar with the "Highest Point in Camden County". I previously thought it was in Pine Hill but apparently it is right down the street from me down Cooper Road in Berlin. I have always avoided this place because there is a construction entrance sign, private no trespassing etc. I...

    GPS for the pine barrens

It does not come with any cables(the etrex) at least the one I have didn't come with any accesories. I have had a great time with mine but I know its limitations. I've got some choice striper spots along the Delaware and several ruins in the pines in there.

    Sssssnakeheads!?

I believe it was in a Courier-Post article a few years back that they explained why someone would release such a destructive invasive species. I think its a tradition in parts of Asia to buy two of these snakeheads and release one into a river, and keep one for the home. This of course is...

    Down Jersey Radio Show

Listened through the net. Also tried the car radio and on the stereo and nothing. That particular track "Leeds devil's Blues" had me dancing around the room and believe me that's not a pretty sight. Clean, crisp, blues. I digged it. Tom

    Oswego Kayak trip 7/4/06

the spring runoffs on little side legs of the river. (water was about 10 degrees colder and crystal clear) Jim, How deep were these "little side legs". When I did the Oswego it was in very low water but the little side stream runoffs were deep, clear and refreshingly cool. The water came...

    State Shutdown

Flagpoles missing While one of the Legionaires was giving a speech at the Carranza ceremony, I thought I heard him talk about flagpoles from the state that were not delivered. There were two large flags (Mexican and American) hanging from a limb of a pine tree next to the memorial. I had some...

    Carranza Memorial Ceremony

I enjoyed it as well. As I was approaching the Boot camp on Carranza road I saw two small planes coming from the north. They slowly made their turn together and started following Carranza's road towards the monument. It was perfect timing they flew right under me. The ceremony was very nice...

    Forest Ranger

This is "piney profiling" in grendel's case and "hippie profiling" in Gabe's case. They would probably have a field day w/ me and my buddies banging on some drums like we have done many times over the years. I'll just say I've been extremely lucky and I will not be so naive in future...

    Forest Ranger

They are law enforcement correct? Why wouldn't she need probable cause? I have never seen a ranger walk up to someone and demand they open a cooler, except in cases where the person is drinking or appears like they have been drinking. If you have had a different experience let me know Tom

    State Shutdown

Wait a minute now this is @#!&%$& ridiculous!!! The Outhouse?!? I'm going to the Carranza Ceremony on Saturday and then I was going to spend a good part of the day in Wharton State Forest. I fully expected campsites and other areas where a fee is charged to be closed. Next someone is going...
