Margaret Bakeley, Artist who lived at Friendship

A similar scene with people, though this one is more stark. Could be any town in old-time South Jersey. I love it

Margaret Bakeley, Artist who lived at Friendship

Another one with great color. This scene does bring back some of the old days, maybe Tabernacle or outside of Pemberton or Medford.

A favorite of mine; cardinals in the snow along a brook.

Margaret Bakeley, Artist who lived at Friendship

I have 9 of Margaret's Paintings. Margaret was a folk artist. Her style is different than the style by Terry Schmidt. I love Terry's paintings as well, they are more representative of the Pine Barrens. I have a sketch that I did not frame. This was on the reverse of one of the photos. I imagine...

    Music for the day

Old Bobby. What a tale he tells. Just a minute 'fore you leave, girl Just a minute 'fore you touch the door What is it that you're trying to achieve, girl? Do you think we can talk about it some more? You know, the streets are filled with vipers Who've lost all ray of hope You know, it's not...

Fire in Greenwood Forest Ocean County Near Jones Road

I don't think it was intential. He didn't need pallets if he wanted to start a fire. Now this, really troubles me. I'd love to hear the back story of it: "The suspect is also charged in an unrelated case with simple assault and endangering an injured person in connection with a brawl that took...

No-Passing Zone to Be Created on Stretch of Route 206 in Shamong

I wonder if the writers are paid by the word. I think we are now well informed about the fire truck. "Officials also revealed that an Indian Mills Volunteer Fire Company fire truck was involved in a traffic collision on Route 206, but just north of Shamong, in neighboring Tabernacle Township...

    New Mid-Atlantic NAIP series

Boyd, just of interest to me probably, but I'm looking at a little pond in Cape May County, and yet the aerials are the 1940 Atlantic County aerials. I suppose they just dip down into Cape May as an overflow of the initial airplane capture? PS: I apologize, I put this in the wrong thread. Feel...

Wet Forest - Formerly Known as Dry Forest

I was in the town of Goshen this afternoon parked along the road right next to Goshen Creek. My phone vibrated and buzzed with an urgent message that a flash flood was likely. I scoffed at it, but it rained like hell, and I lit out of there when I noticed the road was looking more like a shallow...

    Pieces Of Hampton Park History

But I can list thousands of private companies that polluted our land and our water. The Batsto is too sacred to leave it in private hands to do what they will on the site. Supposed they sold it to unscrupulous actors.

Wet Forest - Formerly Known as Dry Forest

Wait a cotton-picking minute here. How did you account for the slope in the wheel barrow bottom? Also, was the wheel barrow on perfectly level ground? I don't think a wheel barrow is a reliable rain gage; or else they'd advertise it as such, a dual purpose if you will. :D

    Buck Run, A PBX Hike

As I said, people in general have no idea how good for the back it is walking on uneven ground, stepping over deadfalls, and hopping between hummocks. It loosens everthing up, and also strengthens the muscles that support the frame.

Yes, you are correct as to the turkey beard. The clumps are heat-affected sphagnum.

    Music for the day

There is a video of them doing a full concert somewhere, maybe Youtube. They were one of those groups that played their songs in concert the way they recorded them for the album, without drifting into jams or innovations. Creedence Clearwater Revival did that too.
