Thanks Ron. Wow, not a joke, I thought they were very old, but still used.

    This oak

While out, I found a strange implement in the woods. I could not make sense of it. See if you can. It had a strange side joint, like it could ride beside a vehicle, maybe a tractor? I thought maybe it was flipped upside down, so I flipped it over. Some type of furrow tool? Near a berry field.

Google maps getting dumbed down even more?

I share your pain. There was a lake I used see a name on, so I used it as a reference. Now it's gone. I think it was Lake bradlee or some such in cape may county.

I really like this oak. I had one in my yard. Very hardy and stable. This found on the Hovnanian tract near South Toms River. In my experience, it's actually very infrequent in the Pine Barrens. Name it.

Wet Forest - Formerly Known as Dry Forest

I actually don't drink heavy, just kidding. I did put the can out because I saw nothing on the horizon and some weather person said the winds won't be very strong in most places after all.

So, in your opinion, should I put the recycling can out or not? I'm wrestling with the decision; drinking heavy.

Wet Forest - Formerly Known as Dry Forest

Yes, very hit of miss. I was in the woods yesterday near Toms River. The wind kicked up nice and strong. I'd normally be worried about fire, but the vegetation this year is growing extremely fast and is very lush. I was near a stream, and the sheep laurel was as tall as me. I've never seen that...

They all report to just one of the bases, but there is a separate satellite office at Lakehurst. I think Lakehurst is usually not one of the bases that is top dog though.

A bit late to wonder where you are

I am a huge fan of books on Arctic/Antarctic explorations. So I was surprised today to see this was published a couple years ago. I missed it somehow. https://www.nytimes.com/2022/03/09/climate/endurance-wreck-found-shackleton.html?unlocked_article_code=1.100.9HPU.XYRMU8Z5ueJG&smid=url-share

Prescribed Burning Today - Wharton, other sites

I did a plant survey at Lakehurst Navy base, part of the joint base. The survey lasted through the summer, and they don't burn in the summer. Maybe something new.
