State finds gold in them there pines.....

That might not be a bad thing in one respect. I don't see a prohibition in, say, through maintenence, the Martha Furnace is brought back to full operating life and used as an exhibit several times a year. I'd pay to see that furnace in operation--in the full bloom of her glory you might say. Put...

Help with a face and a place

A mill used to be in Pemberton Township, perhaps at Browns Mills, that was called "Biddle's Mill". Maybe there is a connection there.

The Sarracenia Flava was Fleeced (Trumpet Pitcher Plant)

We have a large discrepancy if people think this rape of the land is beneficial and needed to sanitize the Pine Barrens. My opinion is that this population, being here 50 years, is established, and so if they produce hybrids...then they produce hybrids; so what. By the time hybrids change all...

The Sarracenia Flava was Fleeced (Trumpet Pitcher Plant)

I'm not totally onboard with those who have taken up the task of erradicating all invasives. I would agree to it in certain situations related to the public good (such as the gentian population on Dover Road--good for the soul and Pine Barren public relations). But Man is an integral part of the...

GREAT stuff! How neat that must have been....the control of the dog and seeing his obediance adds an entirely different dimension to hunting that I'd enjoy.

    Property Values

Nothing is ever perfect when it comes to evaluations, but this site is pretty cool. At least it says I'm not paying too much, so that is cool. http://www.valueappeal.com/propertytax/calculator.aspx

    Forest Fires and Survival

This one is a classic from one when we explored the Warren Grove Wildfire in 2007. We came upon a pitch pine cone that exploded open from the heat, and see the seedlings that flew out coming up (6 months after the fire).

    Forest Fires and Survival

I read several web site sources that said it most likely will withstand the fire as it passes. Hey, I'm only the messenger...:)
