    Natural Navigation

Comprehensive post Al. I lost my Oregon GPS somewhere in the Parker Preserve this summer. I went without one for maybe 45 days or more. Instead I relied heavily on my compass and pre-planning. Once parked I'd shoot for my target with compass so that it got me close to the bog or riverside where...

Your photos are stunning Doug. Really. I've never seen nicer photos of water lilies or a fox.

    bay days

That one dog is a powerful runner. Can I rant just a bit here? Why is it that the county and state can't work together and get a couple hundred people who are out of work in Bridgeton and Salem and 60 dumpsters, and have them clean that area up at $15 per hour? What would it take, a week? That...

    Cable TV Problems

Guy, about 5 years ago I had a bad signal problem. I was also using an electric amp at the time, one of the earlier ones. It did not help me much at all, but was not related to the problem. The technician went down to the basement with me and when I pointed out my amp he smirked like a little...

    Fierodoug's Pictures

Is that Chatsworth Doug? As to the size of the photos, I'm not sure. I never post the actual photos. I post a PNG file of the photo I make using the Microsoft snipping tool. If I ever use JPG, I reduce the size down to approximately 1,000 X 800 PXL.

    anyone do truck recovery? help!

He was right here, on his merry way to Spring Hill. He had great ambitions, but that road is really horrible right now. It was even worse on the way to get him (by the old cabin lake).

    anyone do truck recovery? help!

I got him out. I brought a 10 pound sledge and shovel with me. Had to chop out the ice in back of his vehicle. The ice was about 5" thick. I used shingles under my tires. Tom (oji) was standing by on the Red road just in case.

    anyone do truck recovery? help!

I am in contact with Doug, and am preparing to go out there. I don't have a winch, so it will be dicey. If anyone else is going to call and help let me know. I'll check this post right before I leave.

    Weather on the way...

Those numbers are really pathetic. It's not so much how wrong the weatherman was, it's more how the media hyped it up to such a fever pitch. But, I do see the Mt. Holly weatherman apologized. I accept, I accept! I hate shoveling anymore.

    Weather on the way...

To be fair to the weathermen, it is still snowing in Bamber. If I get a lot more than the 3 inches I got last night I'll have to eat my snow in shame.

    NJ State Policy for Geocaching

PS: the next time you are up to your balls in ice water, do what I do; take in a quick, sharp breath and let it out through your clenched teeth with a whistling sound. What do you mean you did that? :)

    Weather on the way...

This is crazy. Why such late news on this? I'm either enjoying retirement too much and forgetting what day it is, or they seriously missed the boat on this.
