    A view from an Airship

Thanks guys. There was a bit wind, but believe it or not they told us that was a good thing. Our trip was perfect in terms of the wind and weather. The thing that affected the flight was when heat from the ground pushed us up nose first as the airship floated into the column, and then down as...

    A view from an Airship

I took the photo in the link below from the Navy airship today. We were flying over Manchester Township in this shot. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=547586028590669&set=pb.301806289835312.-2207520000.1350605349&type=1&theater

    Cedar Bridge Tavern....1938 and today

Thanks Guy. I'm fairly steeped in Ocean County history because I've been collecting and digitizing archives from our county for quite awhile, and have also been writing and publishing articles on my website. That's all been going very well, and I'm always on the lookout for new archives to...

    Cedar Bridge Tavern....1938 and today

Nice article. I don't believe I have that one. As far as I understand it, the New Jersey Conservation Foundation had first dibs on purchasing the rest of the property, but they waived that to the county. I have official documents to that affect somewhere.

    Cedar Bridge Tavern....1938 and today

Hah, that's funny about cutting the hole, although I can't imagine what that did to the structure, haha. I don't now when the private residence sign went up, but it belongs to the county now, so its being protected, and the structure is actually in great shape thanks to Rudy, so it will...

    Cedar Bridge Tavern....1938 and today

Yes, he did. Apparently Rudy brought stuff up through the windows. He was a character. I don't know if you heard, but he died last month. The tour guide was Tim Hart btw.

    Cedar Bridge Tavern....1938 and today

OK, I posted a few of the pics of the tavern tour on my website. I'll be doing an indepth history of the tavern for the Compendium sometime in the near future. I wrote a short one for the Riverside Signal, which I think will be in the next edition http://ochistory.org/Cedar_Bridge_Tavern.php

Hi All, I just toured Cedar Bridge Tavern yesterday with my New Jersey History OCC students. I posted a few pics on Facebook, and when I have time, I'll edit and post some video, but in the meantime, I posted some old photos here. Thought you'd might enjoy them.
