Went clamming in bay last weekend. Was scared the storm would wreck the season, but about 100 clams were took in 2 hours. Here's to a clean summer in the bay :guinness:

For us, after speaking with some folks that would know, we are not eating anything that comes out of the bay this year. Clams/oysters/mussels are nothing more than natures little water filters, and there is a lot to filter in the bay this summer. Keep the Imodium A-D handy

One of my buddies is an off-sea commercial fisherman and when he told me he went clamming with his family I knew it was fine. I also checked with the division. Tissue testing of shellfish met the National Shellfish Sanitation standards.

My friend and I clammed Barnegat Bay this past Saturday and did very well. We raked 300 clams between the two of us. We fed them to about 30 people that night at a party. Grilled, deep fried, and raw. We also had a clam feast on Sunday. All is fine.
