Since it is not directly Pine Barren related, I posted here.

With it being Cranberry Harvest time, it is interesting to see that Ocean Spray in Bordentown City is one of the 8 places in Burlington County that if a disaster struck thousands of people would be at risk of injury.

If I had to guess being somewhat familiar with the plant it is probably due to the large volume of ammonia they use in their refrigeration plant. I can't imagine anything else in their process that could present a risk.

Working for a chemical company and being involved in these types of risk assessments, which all are required to do, you walk away with mixed feelings. The bottom line for me is to make sure the risk is minimized, the community is aware of the risks and have response plans in place. Honestly though, if it is of a terroristic nature that say such risk is being evaluated, there is little that can truly be accomplished. I've sat in enough meetings with the doom and gloom types that love to create projects and spend money to create a false sense of security.

Now lets not make this a doom and gloom thread! We already have one running on the "economy" topic!
