I saw some little fellows like these in my own backyard today as well!

Nice! So you must have some type of vernal pond on the property . . . you should make a point to see the adults breeding in the spring. its pretty intense.

There's an upland vernal pond pretty near my house - although this is the first year I've seen where it contained water for an extended period since moving here in 2006.

No we don't but there must be one near by. It's been so wet this last year I think they are migrating from pond to pond. We are seeing alot of toads too.

A friend told me a few days ago that he was unable to drive any further at this point because they were covering the roadway. He was afraid to run them over and thought it looked surreal for the sheer numbers of them EVERYWHERE......hopping!
