Hi everyone....and thanks Ben for your gallery help....
A bit late posting, but never too late to share a beautiful day spent in the pines. Gloria and I started out on Easter morning with a sunrise service at Batsto.
By 8 am we were "on the path" and headed for our first stop. I was glad to have stopped there the previous evening, because the light was much better then. Sunday morning was a little cloudy to start.
The first stop on our journey to check out the peepers that I saw on Saturday...

I've decided that all good ponds accomodate really interesting trees.
Onto our second stop.... which we come back to because we want to head out to our furthest destination and work our way back....
On the way to the 3rd place we caught up with a very patient leopard frog (Leeper's cousin)
Cakes coming out of the swamp.... fairly easy crossing.

Then back to the second stop to get a crash course in FROG. They were everywhere as the morning became warmer and warmer. Wading in the water was like playing one of those boardwalk games where the heads kept popping up every time we looked around. Glo was my walking, talking field guide for the day.
Accompanying Gloria as she researched characters for her next book was a gift. We even utilized the "phone-a-(expert) friend" option for oddball frog questions & rested under a pine for quick bite to eat. Got to listen to hours of bird chatter too. It got real hot by the time we headed back after logging in 5+ miles. We parted ways and headed home. I even made it to Easter supper for a piece of pie. I read in a previous post that there is a limit to photos per thread..... there is..... A trip like this could fill an album of photos. I'm so glad you followed our day and hope you had a blessed one too!
Cheers!
