All,
Took yesterday off for a canoe fix. Following a sudden and violent sickness Wednesday and feeling better, I decided what the heck. I put in at my uncle's in Sweetwater/Pleasant Mills right on the river around the bent creek section. Basically direct across from Indian Cabin road. Been a bit since I've been on this piece. I was to make it a short paddling as I was still not feeling 100%. Took a couple coords from Topo just to toy with my GPS. On that note, they were easy to get on in the water.
Went upriver to the Mill navigating some fallen timber. Parked right behind the mill & snapped a couple pics. The weather was my friend and warmth with a slight breeze paved my way. Just heading back down and doing not much other than steering The river took me at an almost consistant 3 mph.
Please forgive this next all you Herper fellows. My I.D. while uninformed will have to do. There were dozens of little turtle dudes sunning along the way. Most were shiny smooth and black with little orange legs and such.No visible snappers... those I know.
Many here have done this trek so I needn't do a blow by blow. Just know that it was as serene and beautiful at almost every turn just as you would hope. Threw up a couple pics, nothing original. Went out to the forks by Rabbit Isle to let the breeze turn me around to where it pleased whilst I ate a sandwich. Two fellows where fishing around the way hopefully enjoying their day as I was.
A lady on the shore tossed a frisbee repeatedly and her lab took it from the water. Headed back up to my Uncle's. A little more effort needed of course. The ecclectic nature of the many properties along the way always amuses. Good few hours out.
Man you can't buy this stuff and thank goodness for that. Each and every one just has to make it for their own. Home grown happiness baby.

Enjoy.
G.
