All,
The Plunge for NJ special Olympics is up again and my 7th year in attendance is upon me. I am excited. I shall not solicite but I will say that I continue to feel very good about the cause that this bit of madness supports. Feb 24 I go in with hopefully a couple thousand other foolish souls to the Atlantic. I am bummed out this year as it is at Seaside because of some B/S politics at Point Pleasant. The Point has a special place in my heart from my youth so it is a let down but after I complete my endevour I plan to drive up to Jenks Boardwalk in Point Pleasant anyway for fun.
Anyone that would like to do the do so to speak can easily look into it as a late signer at pbinfo@sonj.og
Would be cool to see another NJPB member testing his/her cold water tolerance there. How 'bout you BobPBX?

some good "scenery" there too George right?:)

Given what I think you mean my friend yes indeed... however, in your wildest dreams you can not imagine what all you see. The good with the bad and all that. There are no standards and no stereotypes for the event so eyeballs beware! It's not all eyecandy.

How about you Largo, have you got a new light blue speedo for the event?

I pretty much just go with a small Crown Royal cloth bag. The strings make it around me waist and the bag takes care of the important stuff.
Nice color of "BLUE" to fit the bill.
And I'm one of the conservatives.

Not The Pines Of Course

So off I went with the family in tow to the plunge at Seaside. Nice day.
Windy, a little cooler than I had hoped & water 32-33. I miss Point Pleasant but the folks at Seaside made it very enjoyable and the morale was up. Went in twice as usual. very charged by the atmosphere. It was a chart topper for funds raised this year. Yay for N.J. Special Olympics!
Took the family up to Jenks Aquarium in Point Pleasant ( a ritual ) and 'cause the kiddies deserved it, a stop on the way home at Applebee's ( one of their favorites ) in Brick ( Hi Ben ! )
I am Sunburned, windburned, and believe me, stinging cold water burned but it was all worth it. Still digging sand out of my ears.

I was going to go if we had not changed the trip. It sounds like a real rip (current). Let us know when it comes around next year. PS: does your heart literally stop for a couple seconds? Mine would.
