Bird-watchers around the world and locally will be busy from Dec. 14 to Jan. 5 in hopes of tallying more than the 60 million birds they counted last year.
The National Audubon Society, a group that focuses on conserving and restoring bird and wildlife habitats, will have its 112th annual Christmas Bird Count for three weeks. Volunteers will join in their local bird counts all over the continent to help gather information about the type and number of birds.
