The last confirmed cougar sighting anywhere near South Jersey was in Delaware in the early '90s - and that cat belonged to a drug dealer who had smuggled it into the area

If he said one cougar I may believe it for 2 seconds. But two... come on to my knowledge most cats are solitary(except for lions). Why would there be two together. My guess they are maybe coyotes eating plovers, or other shorebirds. But I really think it is a bunch of bs.

My wife is a 7-8th grade school teacher and she takes the Honor Society on a camping trip every year to Stokes State Forest for 5 days. This year she picked me up a book while she was there, “ANIMAL TRACKS of the Mid-Atlantic States”
It covers NY,NJ,PA,Del,VA,WVA,DC,MD. And everything from Deer Mouse to Bald Eagles….But to my surprise there are NO COUGAR Tracks………Hmmmmmmmmm
