"Elizabeth saved the quilt and jumped from the second floor of the burning home"! I suspect she was trying to shield herself from the flames with the quilt instead of save it. But then again, if my house was on fire my first thought would probably be QUICK, SAVE THE QUILT. I know quilts used to have great setimental value so maybe she did risk her life for it.
