We all talk like we know our local brand of cedar very well. Truth is, we don't know Jack. Here's is a chance to really learn something about it:
ATLANTIC WHITE CEDAR FIELD TRIP

Date: Saturday, May 11th, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Location: Bass River State Forest, registration is required
Leader: Dr. George Zimmerman, Richard Stockton College
Atlantic white cedar trees were harvested for timber in the Pine Barrens starting in the 1700’s. Stands of Atlantic white cedar were drastically reduced as a result of these early activities. In
1990 Professor Zimmerman began to study methods of regenerating stands of Atlantic white cedar and he will lead us on a driving and hiking tour of some of his sites in the Pine Barrens.
Fees are $5/adults and $2/children for Nature Conservancy members and $8/adults and $3/children for non-members. Space is limited and registration is required. Please call
