August blooming Orchids

Hello all,

I would like to see some of the late summer orchids that bloom in The Barrens - especially Yellow-fringed. If any of you would be willing to either:
share locations or
let me accompany you if you are going out orchid hunting anytime soon I'd be very grateful.

I did find some white fringed near Chatsworth last weekend.

Best suggestion I have for you is to get some good field guides, fill up your gas tank and start looking. You'll get more satisfaction in finding the plants yourself. And when you find some, don't forget to post some pix. You could also check the state and county parks, as well as non-profits, for any field trips they have scheduled. I know Ocean County Parks does them specifically for wildflowers; I'm sure others do the same.

Michael, if you find yellow fringed in the Pine Barren's, let me know, and as Howard Boyd told me..."I'll come a running!". To the knowledge, that plant is not found above the Egg Harbor River anymore, unless someone is holding the location secret from me.

Most found in bogs and swamps of the Pine Barrens….Vulnerable and declining everyday.Also The Pine Barren barrens is there northernmost limit of there range but with global warming we will see
