Bald eagles no longer 'endangered' in New Jersey, but not everyone's celebrating

On 1/6/25, the State of New Jersey removed bald eagles from the endangered list.

(Note: While not above using it for a bit of gridiron gloating, the article was absolutely a serious post on an important subject.)

They say eternal vigilance is the price of liberty. One hopes the continued viligance and dedication of all those working to protect the bald eagle population will manage to maintain the positive trajectory of recent decades. The bird flu issue does seem concerning, though.

Reading the notes on the various state strategies was interesting. It would seem like a good subject for a documentary, if one has not already been made on it.
