SECTION B5- Large Fire 04/19/08- 1500 hours
Barnegat Twp- between RT 72 & W Bay Ave
No size at this time. ICP is set up. (3) fixed wing air tankers and (2) helos working with multiple ground units. Some area homes were evacuated along with a boy scout camp. No control or containment at this time.

We were down in Brookville around2 this afternoon, smelled the smoke and some some responders when headed home. Heard it is now contained.

Yes...last I heard its was about 80% contained. May be 100% by now. (10 pm)
Unofficially calling about 100 acres. Evacuees have returned to their homes. All aircraft were released before sundown.

I live real close to where the fire was (no, NOT in the adult communities!) I posted a mini-blog and a few photos of what went on today, at http://www.pineypower.com. It was so reminiscent of last year's fire...real scary! The response from other fire stations was amazing - Tuckerton, LEH, Warren Grove, Ship Bottom - they were the ones I caught sight of, and there were plenty more. These guys deserve so much credit. Who knows what would have happened if not for them! My house, and hundreds others, are safe because of you - THANKS!
