I spent an enjoyable couple of weeks there years back. Truly a slice of heaven compared to the overbuilt Jersey shore. If only they had taken the same approach with Mantoloking!
The house I stayed in departed before Sandy came along; Bay Point was one of my early studies of shore stability. On one end of town they had built behind the primary dune line and a healthy stand of cordgrass and remained relatively stable. The other end of town had crossed the dune line, destroyed the cord grass banks, and was forever battling the tides. No matter now!
