Toms River -

The Barnegat Bay National Estuary Program is sponsoring two contests
for students' participation.

The "Name the Storm Drain Mascot" contest is open to all elementary
classrooms in the Barnegat Bay Watershed, which includes all of Ocean
County and a small portion of Monmouth County. The contest is for
naming the fish to be displayed on storm drain labels throughout the
Barnegat Bay Watershed. The "mascot" will be used to spread his
message "only rain in the drain." The winning classroom will receive a
mixture of goodies, including a visit from a live penguin with an
interactive program donated by Jenkinson's Aquarium.

The "Barnegat Bay Slogan Contest" is designed for high school
students. The Barnegat Bay National Estuary Program is looking for a
winning slogan which we will adopt as our own for the coming year. The
winning entry will receive numerous prizes, including a gift
certificate from a local merchant.

Some wonderful entries have arrived already. Don't miss out on your
chance to win! All entries must be postmarked no later than March 15,
2004.

If you would like more information, please visit our website at
